It Was my FATE to STAY up all NIGHT! Fate/Stay Night with my boy Darks aka Ecstasy!

I received an unexpected bonus, which naturally means I blew it on more shit. I even went shopping at a brick and mortat store, Toys R Us! Check this haul!
I've been somewhat interested in this Megatron, and I love the original Yu-Gi-Oh series. I still sporadically play with my one friend, so I suppose we will bust these decks out when next we hand. I have finals next week, which means I will promptly start studying on Monday. I passed my midterms by not studying or sleeping due to Pokemon X addiction, so I'm not exactly worried. I take tests, and I score a B. I'm not sure what the middle step consists of from me taking a test to getting a B, but I don't question it. I also have the following Bad Ass mother on the way:
Revoltech Anubis Jehuty ($18!!) Evangelion 05(rebuild) ($12!!!), Unit 00 Blue ($15!!!, I fucking hate the yellow version) Unit 05 (No 118) and a replacement Figma Rin.

Every weaboo on the block knows of Fate/Zero. It's shiny, new, dark, edgy, and violent! But do you kids remember Fate/Stay Night ? It's predecessor and chronological sequel, and personally one of my favorite games. It's one of my favorite visual novels (well I've only played Tsukihime and Clannad besides this) but I absolutely love the engrossing and complex story. I recently finished replaying the visual novel, and rewatching the anime, so it's time. I even watched Fate/Zero season 2. Some may say it's my Fate to write this blog, and I agree.
Fate/ Stay Night is the story of a young man named Shirou Emiya, is a naive, somewhat dumb, overly helpful man who wants to be a hero. He was raised by his adoptive father Emiya Kiritsugu, who wanted to be a her previously. Shirou told him that he would continue his dream, and Kiritsugu died that very night. Kiritsugu wasn't a normal man, he was a magus- one who uses magic. He was also an assassin, but I'll get to that later. Shirou lives a simple life; trying to learn magic like his father, exercising, attending school, and working part time jobs.  That is until he's dragged into the 5th Holy Grail War, a War of supernatural heroes that drags in everyone in the surrounding town.
Emiya Shirou- the most heroic derp.
The Holy Grail War is a war of Magi. People with magical abilities summon legendary heroes from the past and future, and battle them, with the winner claim the Grail, which can grant any wish. There are seven classes that need to be filled for the holy grail- Lancer, Archer, Saber, Berserker, Caster, Assassin, and Rider. The heroes are summoned from the past and the future by a Magus, and bound to them by a command spell somewhere one their body. The command spell is made up of 3 parts, each one allows the Magus to force their servant to obey and absolutely command and only to be used when absolutely necessary.  Shirou is dragged into the war when he witnesses a fight at school, and is killed by Lancer. Luckily, he is saved by Rin Tosaka, and returns home disoriented. His killer, Lancer, follows him there, and Shirou is saved when he summons Saber, entering the Holy Grail War.
Rin and Archer
    The cast (spoilerific!!):
Shirou Emiya- an idiot with his heart in the right place. He wants to save everyone, and believes there is good in everyone. His only magic skill is in projection and replication.
Saber(King Arthur)- Shirou's servant, and the strongest. She is weakened due to Shirou's poor mana levels, and was Kiritsugu's servant in the previous war.
Rin Tosaka- A classmate of Shirou's, she comes from a long line of magi. Her Father died in the previous war. In every route she teams up with Shirou fro some reason or another. Tsundere.
Archer(future Shirou Emiya)- A blunt, but caring servant who serves Rin. He can reproduce weapons and create his own world (reality marble) where he can make anything.
Kotomine Kirei- A priest who runs the local church and oversees the grail war. He was in the previous grail war, and betrayed Rin's father. He summons Lancer, which is against the rules.
llyasviel von Einzbern- a German homunculus who becomes the grail in the final stages of the war. She was raised by Kiritsugu Emiya, and loves Shirou like a brother. This is complicated by her wanting to kill him. Her servant is Berserker (Hercules)
Sakura Matou- Rider's Master in Heaven's Feel Route, and the main love in said route. She's an underclassmen who loves cooking and archery.
Shinji Matou -Sakura's douchebag brother, Rider's master in the other routes. A horrible person who has no qualms about killing humans to feed his servant.
Gilgamesh- The previous Archer and King of Heroes. The strongest servant, he is extremely arrogant and loves Saber. He was given a body in the previous war, and stayed in our world.  Gilgamesh plans to conquer the world and kill everyone in it.
The king of heroes ultimate attack.
There are three main routes in Fate/Stay Night. Here's the breakdown the best I can do (I'll leave out all the cooking).
Fate Route- After summoning Saber, she badly wounds Archer, but Shirou stops her from killing Rin. They go to the church and Shirou learns of the rules of the Holy Grail War from Kotomine. On their way home, they're attacked by Berserker. Shirou and Saber are mortally wounded, and Rin proposes and alliance til they can defeat him. Soon after Shinji activated a barrier at school to drain the lives of everyone to power his servant. Saber uses her Noble Phantasm (special attack) to defeat Rider.

Shirou quickly improves at magic, being able to project swords ( like Archer .  . .) and they decide to confront Berserker. Archer dies fighting, but Shirou manages to project Caliburn ( Saber's orginal sword) and Saber defeats Berserker. The next Servant Caster appears at  Shirou's home, but is quickly killed by Gilgamesh. Man, he's awesome. After more standing around talking for a few days, It's time for the climax! Kotomine kidnaps Illya to end it all, and shirou fights and defeats him. Saber defeats Gilgamesh, and the war is over. Saber returns to her own time, only to die again.

Unlimited Blade Works- The manliest route by far. Rin is the girl of choice in this route. Shirou and Rin team up to find the master at their school who is setting up a barrier there. Shirou is called by Caster during the night to Ryuudo temple to form a truce, and when he refuses, he is saved by Archer, Shortly after Caster is forced to retreat, Archer tries to kill Shirou, but is saved by Saber. Back at school Rider and her master Shinji activate their barrier, slowly killing everyone in the school. Rider is found dead, killed by Kuzuki(though it's a secret for now!) Shinji is given Gilgamesh by Kotomine.

Rin suspects another master at school who turns out to be none other than their teacher Soichirou Kuzuki, Caster's master. Kuzuki has mad fighting skills, able to fight on par with Saber, and Caster supports him. Caster tries to kidnap Shirou's guardian later, and gains control of Saber using Rule Breaker, her Noble Phantasm. Saber resists, so Caster escapes and tries to bring her under control. Rin, Shirou, and Archer go to rescue Saber, and Archer betrays them, joining Caster's team.

Afterwards Rin and Shirou decide to seek Ilya's help, but arrive in time to see Berserker defeated by Gilgamesh, who then tears out Illy'a heart. Lancer shows up offering an alliance, and it's back to the church! Lancer fights Archer, til Archer concedes and goes off to do his own thing. Archer kills Caster and Kuzuki, revealing he wanted to have his contract broken by Rin, so he could kill Shirou; his past self! Rin forms a contract with Saber, and is kidnapped by Archer to bait Shirou into coming to Ilya's castle.

Shirou fights Archer, as Lancer rescues Rin. Kotomine appears to order Lancer to kill himself, which he does, but not before killing Kotomine and setting Rin free. Shirou begins to gain the upper hand against Archer by convincing him that he was on the correct path. Gilgamesh appears, mortally wounding Archer, and referring to both of them as fakers. He then inserts Ilya's heart into Shinji, to start the process of creating the grail.

Rin and Shirou make a contract (they fuck :DDDDD) and it's time to head for the final battle. Shirou manages to create his own version of Unlimited Blade Works to defeat Gilgamesh, while Rin deals with the grail, and Saber fights Assassin. Archer appears to save the day, finishing off Gilgamesh, and saving Rin. He finally smiles, and fades away, believing the Rin will help Shirou end up differently then he did.
Heaven's Feel- The Sakura route! This route is probably the worst in my opinion. Servants are killed like it's nothing, and revived as slaves by Sakura's grandfather who is made of worms. Sakura's is Rider's master in this one, and Saber is swallowed halfway through an ominous shadow, supposedly killing her. Sakura lives with Shirou to protect her from Shinji during the war. Rin and Sakura are sisters in this route, with Sakura given to the Matou family and raped by worms and magus. She is controlled by her grandfather using a worm burrowed deep in her nerves.Kotomine reveals the worms in Sakura's body will soon kill her, and she will go berserk shortly before her end.

Rin and Shirou once again form a truce, and go to visit Ilya to form an alliance. They see Berserker killed by a Dark Saber and assassin. Archer is mortally wounded, and so is Shirou, so Archer's arm is grafted onto Shirou. Kotomine completes the surgery, and tells Shirou using the arm will kill him. Afterwards, Rin and Ilya join Sakura and Shirou staying at Shirou's house. Sakura becomes jealous, and it's revealed that she has been becoming a shadow at night, killing people. She kidnaps Ilya, so it's off to Einzenbern castle again!

Kotomine joins Rin and Shirou in rescuing Ilya (he's awesome in this route), and fights and defeats assassin. Shirou uses Archer's arm to project and defeat dark Berserker who was blocking their path. Shirou projects the Gem Sword of Zelretch, as Rin believes it's the only way to defeat Sakura's grandfather. The gang heads to the cave where the Holy Grail is formed for the final confrontation. Shirou defeats Saber,  while Rin confronts Sakura. While the battles are ongoing, the Holy Grail is beginning to form Avenger, a new servant. Shirou stabs Sakura with Rule Breaker, severing the link and depleting Avenger's power. Rider escapes with Rin in Sakura. In the normal end, Shirou dies destroying the Grail. In the True end, he fights Kirei, and wins. Then Ilya appears, sacrificing herself to destroy the grail. Shirou recieves a new body, and everyone lives happily ever after. This route has the most Sex (since I know you were wondering).

Shirou may be an idiot, but he strongly belives in his ideals. It's so cool to see someone fight and never give up, no matter how much pain it causes him. He never gives up, and it's inspiring. Especially in Unlimited Blade Works where he manages to defeat the strongest servant Gilgamesh. I really do love this game, even if it's a bit too long, and I could do with less cooking. Now a brief thing on Fate/Zero!
Fate/Zero was novel series written as a prequel to Fate/Stay Night. It follows Shirou's adoptive father Kirisugu and his battles to win the Holy Grail war. He's a Magus assassin hired by the Eizenberg family to win the holy Grail War. Kotomine and Rin's father also appear, as does Gilgamesh. Kiritsugu wants to win the war to wish for a peaceful war, ironic isn't it ? In the end he orders Saber to destroy the grail, ending the war, and creating the fire that almost killed Shirou.  Personally I loved the novels, and the second season of the television series is great. The first half was so dull that it took me quite sometime to attempt the second half, it was well worth it.

UFO Table has announced some sort of Fate/Stay Night project that they promise will make everyone happy. I really hope it's a complete adaption of the game. The Tv series was okay, kind of a messy adaption of the Fate route, and Unlimited Blade Works was pretty and awesome, albeit incoherent if you didn't play the route. I really can't wait, maybe anime isn't dead.
And in case you made it this far and were wondering, Darks is an old meme that never gets old.
