Figma #231 Guyver! Corpse of an Ogre!

After Archer made it out of Figma development hell, it wasn't a suprise that Guyver rode his coat tails and made it out too. Actually, it is strange,  as Archer is a central figure in a then soon to be airing anime, and Guyver has a manga that has run ten years too long, with no end in sight, the translations even further away. The 30 year anniversary would be next year, but I'm just glad I finally own him. All the other Guyver figures are near DBZ figuarts levels of price gouging. I wonder which will finish first, Berserk or Guyver.

No extra faces ? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? They could have at least thrown in  a Sho Fukumachi head. Anyone he comes with the Figma standard stand, hand tree, two extra blades, a non opening chest piece, and a Guyver 1 unit. Yeah, kind of lame, I know. The figure is pretty small, I guess that's accurate, as Sho looked like kind of a twink.
Don't you want to suck on these babies ?
When I was cheking out Guyver's A cups, I noticed they are some sort of translucent plastic, not the shinning yellow tities the box and all prototype shots falsely advertised. Dropped, called the cops, told my mom, emailed my service provider, notified my lawyer, called Pizza Hut, etc, etc.  He can't really hold them open right either, he's like a teenager trying to get his first bra off a chick.

The sculpt on this figure is gorgeous, but the articulation is a bit mediocre. The waist is very loose, and keeps dancing about like he's jiggle belly. Commence the jiggling!  It makes it  a bit difficult to pull of dramatic action poses. He's not a bad figure, just largely underwhelming. I'll give a 7/10, since he's a Christmas miracle! Plus I'm a huge Nostalgia fag for the series. Though I found out someone else is actually the owner of Unit 1.
Yes, with his intelligence, magic eye powers, and now a Guyver unit, Lelouch will have no problems over throwing Brittania!

S.H. Figuarts Broly and Super Saiyan Goku! Ones power is Maximum, the other is simply mediocre!

I've been busy with school, yada yada, and most of my classes were very write heavy. That, and I have way too many toys to begin with. I actually sold off a metric fucking ton of them, including my SDCC Goku. Sure, he was cool, but I liked $400 more, and prefer the manga colors of the Jap release. I also bought the Japanese Gohan, selling my SDCC version for $200. Go me. He'll get reviewed with Vegito in May. Today though, is  Broly's time to shine. His power is maximum after all.

Broly comes in a big ass box, so I knew he's be tons of fun. I'm failry certain this is the biggest Figuarts since the silent era. He's solid too, with the box weighing more than a pound. Probably, scales are for fat people, so I don't own one.

I didn't really expect much in the way of accessories, having owned Figuarts before. Only Trunks and regular Vegeta came with anything substantial, but his size more than makes up for it. He comes with 4 hands, two faces, three glowing balls, and a stand. Why three glowing balls ? Nobody knows. I interpret it as meaning Broly secretly enjoys juggling, that is when he isn't trying to kill Kakarot.
Broly always wanted to be a clown, but couldn't contain his rage.
Sculpt wise and paint job on Broly are gorgeous, he looks like he stepped out of the first Broly movie. Possibly the 2nd too, but we don't mention that, or the third one. Poseability is solid,  though he does have huge joints. Surprisingly Broly can hold off plenty of poses well, despite his bulk and tiny feet. His legs are a bit odd under the kilt though.

I had a lot of fun playing and posing this guy, as the picture below will tell you. He makes your other Figuarts look like the plebs they are.

All you waifus are belong to Broly

Do you even lift Goku ?

The DBZ Aesthetics crew.

This is probably my second favorite from the Dragon Ball Z Figuarts line, after Trunks. His price tag is $30 higher than the rest of the line, so its up to you if he's worth it. I'd say he is.  I give Broly Figuarts an 8/10, mostly due to the price. He is a must have for any DBZ fan. Now onto Goku, who's mildly disappointing to say the least.

Goku was one of the three releases from the Dragon Ball Figuarts line before it become mostly overseas bound, and web shop exclusive in Japan. Essentially this means he gets thrown back into production every so often, along with Piccolo and Gohan. The rest of the figures, thanks to strict Japanese exclusive laws, will most likely never be released again. But hey, you can still get these three, easily the worst in the line.

Well thats . . . underwhelming. Five hands and two faces! No base, no stand. The figure has a decent paint job, and the articulation is nice enough. The back of the knees look terrible though, but it's the same on Regular Goku, and most likely Vegito, who all use the same (outdated at this point) mold. Maybe they'll update it for Teen Gohan. I doubt it too.

He can pull of some decent poses, but you need a stand to do the cooler ones (thank you Broly)! I do like the paint job more than the SDCC exclusive. The DBZ anime may have aged like milk left in the sun, but the manga is solid regardless of time. I do still watch DB Kai though. Anyway I'll give Goku a 6/10. He was only $30, making him the cheapest out of the line, but he's a bit of a letdown, especially when compared to Broly.
