Digimon Tamers, Frontier, and Savers! Coming soon to a theather near you. Not really.

Well I just finished Digimon Savers, and I am dissappoint. I remembered it being much better than this, oh well. It can't be helped! I think part of it was due to Savers being by first anime series I watched while it was airing in Japan, and myself being younger and less of an anime expert.
Digimon Tamers takes place in a world like our own. Digimon is a television show, and a card game. Our Lead Takato one day finds a mysterious blue card, and dreams up his own Digimon, Guilmon. Together they team up with Henry, and later Rika to defeat Digimon that break through into our world. Complicated matters is Hypnos, a government agency dedicated to dealing with Wild Ones, which are digimon who break free into our world.Tamers is considered much darker than any other Digimon series, with Digimon no longer returning when they are killed, and borrowing a few elements from Evangelion.
Our Cast:
Takato Matsuki- Our lead, he drew Guilmon who later comes to life. He treats his Digimon like a pet, and often has trouble reigning him is. Guilmon's line is Guilmon-Growlmon-Metal Growlmon- Gallantmon- Gallantmon Burst mode.
Rika Nonaka- An angry girl with a chip in her shoulder, she takes our her anger on Digimon, treating Renamon, her partner like a slave, and claiming she hates Digimon. As time goes on, she softens and befriends Renamon, and joins Henry and Takato on their adventures. Renamon's line is Renamon- Kyubimon-Taomon- Sakuyamon.
Henry Wong- A half Chinese half Japanese son of a computer programmer who worked on the original Digimon project. His partner is Terriermon, who's line is Terriermon- Gargomon-Rapidmon-MegaGargomon.
Ryo Akiyama- The hero from the Digimon Wonderswan games makes it over to the Tamers timeline somehow. He lives in the digital world, due to his partner Cyberdramon being hard to control. Cyberdramon's line is  Monodramon- Strikedramon- Cyberdramon- Justimon.
Juri Katou- A classmate of Takato, her partner is Leomon. She later is taken over by the D-Reaper.
Kenta Shioda- A friend of Takato's, he travels to the Digital World in search of a partner, and teams up with Guardromon, who digivolves to Andromon.
Kenta Kitagawa- A friend of Takato who often loses the Digimon card game to Kenta, he goes to the Digital world seeking a partner as well. He teams up with Marineangemon, who's official line is unknown.
Calumon- A mysterious Digimon who is later revealed to be the catalyst for Digivolution given form.
Impmon- a mischievous Digimon who later turn on the Tamers, when tempted by the powers of evil. His mega level is Beezlemon, and his Tamers are later revealed to be children names Ai and Mako.
The series can be split into various arcs, but I'll be lazy and divide it into three.
Arc One: Real World. Takato finds a blue card one day mixed in with his Digimon cards. He dreams up his own Digimon, Guilmon, who later comes to life. His card reader becomes a Digivice, which he can slide cards through to power up Guilmon. He later meets, Henry and Terriermon, who he instantly bonds with, and Rika and Renamon, who after some intital friction joins the team.  A mysterious Digimon known as Calumon wanders around town, and is alsways nearby when the digimon digivolve. Impmon is around getting in trouble, and is always jealous of the Tamer's Digimon, as they can evolve, and he cannot. They fight Digimon who break through to the real world. During all this a government organization known as Hypnos, is trying to interfere, and often is responsible for exacerbating the situation.
Almost all of Takato's friends are aware of Guilmon, and paly with at the park reuglarly. One day Leomon, appears, and Juri chases him around, claiming to be his partner. She is rewarded with a digivice for her perserverance, and becomes his Tamer. As time goes on, the  Digimon Tamers encounter the Devas, which are powerful Digimon who are in our world to capture Calumon, and eventually the succeed. Calumon is kidnapped and taken back to the Digital World. A team of Takato, Rika, Henry, Juri, Kazu, and Kenta head to the Digital world to save him.

Arc Two: Digital World: The team arrives in the Digital World, and begin to defeat the rest of the Devas. They meet Ryo, and Kenta and Kazu meet their Digimon partners. Eventually they are forced to fight Beezlemon, a Digivolved Impmon who was powered up by the bad guys. Beezlemon kills Leomon, and Takato forces Guilmon to Digivolves to mega, and it goes horribly wrong. After breaking down, Takato realizes all he wanted to do was fight with Guilmon. Takato merges with Guilmon to become Gallantmon, his true mega level, and defeats Beelzemon.Afterwards they fight with the Digimon sovereigns, but reach a treaty, and get Calumon back. They bring back a defeated Impmon to our world, on an arc created by the original team created by Digimon creators.

Arc Three: D-Reaper: The Tamers all return home, but they brought with them the D-Reaper, a program designed to keep Digimon in check, but went out of control. It begins to expand in the real world, and had taken Juri's form, while her original was trapped in the center. The D-Reaper is eventually defeated by the Juggernaut program, which creates a big bang, and forces it to return to the Digital World. The bittersweet part is the Digimon are all forced to return to the Digital world, though Takato finds a portal to it at the end of the series.

Digimon Frontier is the fourth Digimon series, and was the last one for three, years, until Savers/ Data Squad. Fontier differes from other series, as the kids become the Digimon to fight. They don't really have specific levels either, with the two leads having two mega forms, and a combines Supreme Form. This series has many haters, but I really enjoyed it, with the cast being different enough from the pervious, and some of the designs, such as Emperor Greymon and Sausanomon really appealed to me.

 Cast List:
Takuya Kanbara- The lead Goggle Boy, headstrong, and kind of an idiot. The leader of course, his digivolvution line is Agunimon-Burning Greymon- Aldamon-Emperor Gryemon-Susanoomon (with MagnaGarurumon)
Koji Minamoto- The loner of the group, and hard to deal with, though he softens as time goes on, especially when he learns he has a brother. His line is Lobomon-KendoGarurumon-Beowulfmon-MagnaGaururmon-Susanoomon (with Emperor Greymon)
J.P. Shibayama- The first fat kid in Digimon, he has trouble making friends, and has a huge crush on Zoe. His line is Beetlemon-MetalKabuterimon.
Zoe Orimoto- A girl who grew up in Italy, and has trouble making friends due to cultural differences. Her line is Kazemon-Zephyrmon.
Tommy Himi- the youngest and a bit of a cry baby. His line is Kumamon- Korikkakumon.
Koji Kimura- Koji's twin brother, he was brought to the digital world as data, and tricked into fighting on the bad team. After being defeated by Koji, he remembers who he is, and joins our team. His line is Loweemon- JagerLeomon-Rhihimon.

Arc One: Cherubimon: The five leads recieved text messages leading them to the Digital world. Koji takes a different train than the rest, and doesn't want to associate with them. The Digidestined learn they are part of the ten legendary warriors, who have come to save the digital world. They each collects two spirits each-a human spirit, and a more powerful beast spirit. The team learns they were brought to the world by Ophanimon, on of the tree Celestial Digimon. They witness the second, Seraphimon being defeated by the other half of the ten legendary warriors, who have sided with Cherubimon, the antagonist of the series. They defeat the bad half of the legendary warriors, and take their spirits, aside from Koichi, who joins our team.
Ophanimon is revealed to be held at Cherubimon's castle, so they all head there. Cherubimon kills Ophanimon, but with the last of her strength, she allows Takuya and Koji to digivolves to Emperor Greymon and MagnaGarurumon respectively. They defeat cherubimon, who then returns to being a good Digi-egg.

Arc Two: Lucemon: The evil power is reveled to be Lucemon! He was sealed away by Ten legendary warriors. His two knights, Crusadermon and Dynasmon begin to breakdown the Digital World, using the code to revive Lucemon. Emperor Greymon and Magnamon are unable to deafet them, until Lucemon is final revived, and Lucemon them absorbs their code.Koichi is "killed" fighting Lucemon, since its revealed he's not really alive in the digital world, and makes Koji promise to visiti their mother in the real world.  Lucemon tries to take over our world, but is defeated by Susanoomon, with all five children combined. They split from their spirits, and return to our world. Koichi is dying, but is saved by the light of the digivices. Everyone vows to stay best friends, now matter what.
Digimon Saver, or Data Squad if you prefer, is my least favorite Digimon series, at least til I saw two episodes of Xros wars. The lead once again has an Agumon, and the other Digimon are rip offs of Gabumon and Palmon repectively. Data Squad invovles a team formed to fight Digimon that come into our world. Sound familiar ? It's not horrible, it's just generic. It fell flat compared to the previous series. What I dislike about it is the generic character designs, the reused Digimon from previous seasons, and  the story is dull. There's few intersting ideas, like the royal knights appearing, and Marcus' dad being in a Digimon's body, but it's commonly trad ground aside from that. The cast is a bit older too. Here's our cast:
Marcus Damon- A teenage fighter who's partner Agumon evolves when Masaru punches Digimon. He's an intersting character, a shame he's stuck in this series.
Thomas H. Norstein- a Gary Stu who despite being 14 has went to medical school, is a great fighter, and is rich. His design makes him look like everyone else in the series. His parnter is a talking Dog named Gaomon.
Yoshino Fujieda- The token tits of the group, she's legal! Her partner is a lame plant thing that evovles to resemble Palmon's evolutions more with each level. Lame.
Keenan Crier- A boy who was raised in the digital wolrd, and bonds with Marcus. Keenan is partnered with a a  bird.

The story follows our team fighting Digimon in our world, and later going to the Digital world to make peace with them. It's revealed the Marcus' father was an early member of the Data squad who was lost in the Digital World. They save him, the Digital World, and Marcus decides to live in the digital world. The end, let's never mention Savers again.

Movie time! Here's movies 5-9! Get hype!

Digimon Tamers: Battle of Adventurer: The basic there's a Bad Digimon, let's beat him story. There's nothing special here. 3/10
Digimon Tamers: Runaway Locomon: This movie involves a Train Digimon full of people on a trip to the Digi-world! It's noteworthy because it takes place after Tamers, and shows they were all reunited with their Digimon, and gives Rika a bit more character development. 7/10
Digimon Frontier: Island of Lost Digimon Two groups of Digimon hate each other, and are provoked by the same person on both sides. Our guys save the day! 5/10
Digital Monster X-Evolution: Not connected to any of the anime series,  this film involves Dorumon, a Digimon marked for Execution by the governing body of the overpopulated Digital World, on his adventure to survive. 7/10
Digimon Savers: Ultimate Power! Activate Burst Mode: The city and all it's people are placed in a deep sleep, and it's up to the Digimon to Save the day! 5/10

Now some numbers for Tamers and Frontier!
Digimon Tamers: 9/10
Digimon Frontier: 9/10

That's all for Digimon! Now to finally watch the episodes of Xros Wars that have cameos from my favorite series! I hope they're worth suffering through the scenes where they aren't there. Back to the usual toy fair after this.
