Digimon Are the Champions! Adventure 01 and 02~!!

I'm on Digimon savers, which is pretty meh, so I figure it's time to write a Digimon blog! I know I'm excited, even if you aren't!

 Digimon premiered over here in American of 1999, almost a year after Pokemon. It was funnier, better drawn, and the characters had more personality. I was hooked, and quickly said good-bye to Pokemon, and hopped on the Digimon band wagon.  Digimon had plot progression, story, and much cooler monsters, suck it Pokemon. Digimon follows the story of Seven kids at camp, who are sent to a digital world, and pared up with monsters that can temporarily evolve to protect the children. All the characters are linked to their respective monster by a digivice, and later a crest.

The digivolutions from Chamion level to Ultimate.

The cast of season one, or digimon Adventure follows a cast of seven, and later eight characters.

Tai Kamiya- The leader of the group, hot headed, kind of an idiot, and a soccer player. He wears a pair of goggles, and without him, the group falls apart. His digimon is Agumon, and his Digivoltuion line is Koromon-Agumon-Greymon-Metalgreymon-Wargreymon-Omnimon (with Metalgarurumon)
Matt Ishida- The cynic of the group, he cares deeply for his brother, and plays harmonica. His partnet is Gabumon, and his line is Tsunomon-Gabumon-Garurumon-WereGarurumon-MetalGarurumon-Omnimon( With Wargreymon).
Sora Takenouchi- The leader of Genesis and Sleeping Forrest. Wait wrong series, a girl with metal hat who has issues with her mother, and plays soccer with Tai. Her partner is Biyomon, and her line is Yokomon-Biyomon-Birdramon-Garudamon.
T.K. Takaishi- Matt's younger brother, he's the youngest of the group. His partner is Patamon, and his line is Tokomon-Patamon-Angelmon-Magnaangemon-Serpahimon.
Mimi Tachikawa- A spoiled girl who loves pink, and is somewhat lazy. Her partner is Patamon, and her line is Tanamon-Palmon-Togemon-Lillymon.
Izzy Izumi- A computer nerd with a thirst for knowledge. His partner is Tentomon, and his line is Montimon-Tentomon- Kabuterimon-MegaKabuterimon.
Joe Kido- A worrywart who studeis hard, and want to be a doctor. His partner is Gomamon, and his line is Bukamon-Gomamon-Ikakumon-Zudomon.
Kari Kamiya- Tai's sister, and the eight digidestined. She joins the team midway with her partner Gatomon, who's line is Salamon-Gatomon-Angewomon.

  What makes the first season great is that it's fast paced, and enetertaining. They shoe horned so many random jokes and one liners, and often times the dialogue doesn't make sense 9 like when Mimi says there were seeds in Joe's pocket, and hands them to him? Why was she in his pants when they were like 10?) Still, the show was great, and is still one of my favorites. The show can easily be divided into four arcs:
Arc one: File Island. The Digimon meet their partners, and fight other Digimon controlled by black gears. They all digivolves to Champion level, and Angemon defeats Devimon, setting our characters off on another adventure.
Arc Two: Server. The gang travels the seas on whamon, and collect their tags, which is of half what they need to allow their Digimon to Digivolves again, to Ultimate. They travel the land, avoiding fighting Etemon, the current big bad, til they collect all their crests and can Digivolve to the next level. Agumon digivolves to MetalGreymon, and defeats Etemon, and sends Tai and him back to the real world.
Arc Three: Myotismon. Tai returns to the Digital world, but the group fell apart without him to hold it together.  The gang is reunited, and learn about their latest enemy Myotismon. Myotismon opens the gate to our world, to find the eight Digi-destined, and our gang follows him shortly after. The digi-destiend defeat Digimon in the real world, and Kari joins the team, and together they defeat Myotismon. Myotismon revives at the Mega level, and using Angemon and Angewomon's arrows to allows Agumon and Gabumon to digivolves to War Greymon and Metal Garurumon to defeat him again.
Arc Four: Dark Masters. The sky shows in the real world shows the Digital world, and Digimon are breaking through. The team returns and finds the Dark Master in charge of it all, and they warped the world to meet their desires.Wargreymon takes out two, and Metalgarurumon takes out one, and Magnaangemon takes out the final one. The true evil is revealed to be Apocalymon, and through teamwork, the gang saves the day. Afterwards they all say goodbye, and the humans return to their world.

   Now it's time for our direct sequel- Digimon Adventure 02! It takes place four years after the previous series,  and features a few new Digidestined. This time the Digital world is being conquered by the digimon Emperor, who enslaves Digimon, and erects dark towers to prevent Digimon from evolving. The team can travel between our world and the Digital world using brand new D-3 Digivies, and evolves using Digi-eggs to avoid the ban on digivolving. It's not as good as the original, and the hang ups they have with killing Digimon is retarded, since they had no qualms in the original series. It also has a huge plot hole, claiming the Digi-Denstined gave up their tags and crests to protect the digital world, when they were originally destroyed by Apocalymon, and they all realized they didn't need them. Kari and T.K. return, along with:
Davis Motomiya- He's like Tai, but a little dumber, and funnier. He has a huge crush on Kari, and his partner is Veemon.  Veemon's line is DemiVeemon-Veemon-Exveemon-Paildramon-Imperidaldramon.
Ken Ichijouji- A boy genius who was the Digimon emperor, under the control of a dark spore. He later joins the team, and becomes close with Davis, their digimon merge to form Paildramon. Jis partner is Wormon, and his line is Minomon-Wormon-Stingmon-Paildramon-Imperialdramon.
Cody Iori- A soft spoken child who enjoys Kendo. His partner is Armadillmon, who's line is Upamon-Armadillomon-Ankylomon-Shakkumon (with Angemon)
Yolei Inoue- A loud girl with glasses, and a crush on every cute guy. Her partner is Hakwmon, and her line is Poromon-Hawkmon- Aquilamon-Silphymon (With Gatomon)

   The series features the return of the cast of season one, and additional digi-destined around the world. It can easily be broken into three arcs.
Arc one: Digimon Emperor. A new group is formed to fight the Digimon Emperor, and Digivolves using eggs, since the control spires he created stop them from Digivolving the normal way. They learn the digimon emperor is none other than Ken Ichijouji, the local boy genius. After they discover this, Ken permanently moves into the Digiwold to conquer it. They defeat him, and Ken realizes that Digimon are living creatures, and breaks down.
Arc Two: Arukenimon/ Blackwargreymon. The team returns to the digital world to clean it up, and destroy the control spires. Arukenimon, a woman in appearance, can transform the control spires into Digimon using her hair. She is revealed to be a Spider Digimon, and has a partner named Mummymon. She creates Blackwargreymon from 100 control spires, and he terrorizes the digiworld, trying to find the meaning for his existence. He finds meaning in destroying the Destiny stones, which hold the Digiwold and the real world apart. When he destroys them all, Azulongmon appears, and plants seeds for new ones.
Arc Three: Oikawa. Digimon begin to appear in the realworld, and Paildramon digivolves to Imperialdramon to save the day, and transport the Digidestined all over the world to defeat the rogue Digimon. Mummymon and  Arukenimon were created by Oikawa, who was a childhood friend of Cody's father. Oikawa has always wanted to go to the Digital World, and he was responsible for the Dark Spore that made Ken evil, and inserts the spores into many other children. They all try to go to the digital world, and open a dimension to a new world, where Myostimon is revealed to still be alive. Everyone is transported to the world of their dreams.Things seem hopeless, til Davis' dream is shown to be defeating Myotismon, and Veemon is able to Digivolve to all of his forms at once. Everyone else does the same, and they manage to defeat Myotismon with the power of dreams. Oikawa sacrifices himself to return the digital world to peace and harmony. Afterwards everyone in the world recieves a partner Digimon, and it shows the world 25 year later. Sora and Matt marry, and Ken and Yolei marry, let the rage begin!

 Now let's get onto the movies! At least the first four!

  The first three movies were combines into one Digimon: The Movie. The first two were relatively untouched due to their short length, but the third was cut almost in half. Kari awakwardly narrates it, and they try to tie all three films together using willis, who was originally in the thrid film.
Digmon Adventure (Movie)-The prequel to the series, it deals with Tai and Kari finding an Agumon, who later evolves and fights Parrotmon, while all the original Digi-destined look on.
Our War Game- This takes place after the series, and is basically the plot of summer Wars (same guy). A Digimon is taking over the net, and it's up to the original cast to stop him. Tai and Matt enter the digital world, and Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon fuse to become Omnimon, and defeat Diaboromon, the villian.
Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Landing!!/Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals- The new crew of Digidestined head to America to Hellp Willis, who has two Digimon partners, one of which is infected with a virus. In the Japanese version, the virus infected Digimon kidnaps the original Digidestined, save T.K. and Kari, but not in the American version. Veemon and Willis' Digimon, Terriermon Digivolves using the Golden Digi-eggs to Magnamon and Rapidmon to defeated the virus infected Digimon, Endigomon. Endigomon is reborn as a good Digimon, and the gang heads home.
Digimon Adventure 02: Diaboromon's Revenge. Diaboromon is back! This time Omnimon isn't enough to defeat him, and It's up to Imperialdramon to save the day.

Next time I'll keep the Digi-egg rolling with Tamers, Frontier, and Savers! Expect them sometime this week hopefully! It depends on how lazy I'm feeling. Don't expect much about Savers other than me complaining about it, I'm not a big fan.
