Dynamite Explosion! Costume x Crossover!, Macross 30th Anniversary SQ Figures Sheryl Nome, Ranka Lee, and Mylene Jenius!

I'm not dead, I assure you. I just have terrible summer classes where I am forced to write a minimum of eight pages of dreck per week. Usually more, so when it comes to write more I would rather cut of my ding dong. It certainly didn't help that I went and saw Transformers 4 eight times next week, and had to be social constantly. That shit burns me out like a man covered in gasoline. Now here's an onslaught on blogs that happens when I get a huge order! Hooray!

I've always had an odd relationship with Macross. I've seen every series in the cannon, but it never really hooked with me, it felt like an inferior Gundam series all the way. That is, til I watched Macross 7. The series was repetitive, Basara was annoying, and the plot was retarded, but oh that beautiful soundtrack. To this day I proudly proclaim Fire Bomber as my favorite band. I am also a figure hoarder of highest caliber, so I NEEDED a figure of Basara. I already had an older one, but the hotness known as Sheryl Nome dressed as Basara ? I needed it in my life. The rest was more of a snowball effect after the fact.

I had seen this badboy many a times on Amiami's used list, but never when I had an order ready to go. I was searching for a gift for a friend, and decided to bite the soft chewy bullet and make this figure my own, for roughly $13. A steal for such a cool piece! The box teases other cross over pieces, which further tempted me to buy more.

Obviously, this is a modified version of Basara's live outfit, he was a dirty hippie, not a tranny. It's been modified for the slut crowd, aka Sheryl Nome. Not that she isn't a fine ass slut at that. The sculpt of the figure is amazing, The hair flowing in wind with Sheryl's odd blonde pink hair is perfectly replicated, and she has a sweet ass rack. The guitar is an exact replica of Basara's just like the modified details on the outfit. This figure is really smexy, but as gay as it may be I would prefer a true Basara one. This old one just ain't cutting it.
I really dig the base on Sheryl, it has her signature and celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the Macross series. So where's my Basara in Hikaru's clothes ? Oh wait Otaku don't buy dudes, they're too homophobic. Sheryl gets a 9/10, due to hotness, price and all around greatness. You like tits and Macross ? Get it! Now onto her mold headed rival, Ranka Lee from the same line.

I was never really a fan of Ranka. I hated her hair, she was too moe and kawaii, and her singing didn't appeal to me. Hell, I barely remember anything about her in Macross Frontier. Then again I barely remember Macross Frontier, it did air against Code Geass R2. I'm pretty sure she was an up and coming idol against Sheryl's established idol, destined to come together and sing during the final battle. Then promptly get shafted when the male lead chose the better girl.

I can see the appeal of this figure, she has a younger, more cutesy look compared to Sheryl's mature femininity. This is what Japan loves, because Otaku can't handle a real woman.  Here she is presented wearing Lynn Minmei's outfit from Macross. It works pretty well on her, I like the clash it's pink creates against Ranka's green hair. She's not doing her trademark eye pose flip thing, which makes me sad. She has no real curves to speak of, and quite frankly I have no idea why I bought this. I should lay off the impulse buying. Still, it's a solid figure, nice paint job, great sculpt, but for Ranka fans only, all two of you. 6/10.

I don't think it's ever come up here, but I love anime chicks with pink hair.Hell, my last girlfriend had pink hair when we were dating. If an anime girl has pink hair, she's automatically best girl in my mind. If she duets on a sweet as song like Holy Lonely Night, then holy shit, she deserves respect straight up.  That's where Mylene Jenius comes in. The daughter of two characters from the original Macross, she ends up in the band Fire Bomber with Basara. Who cares though, she has pink hair!

I had to look it up, but this outfit was worn originally by Ranka Lee. I thought it was some weird ass original creation, but that wouldn't fit in with the line. Mylene is dressed up as some sort of Magician with her pet furby coming out of the had. I love the implied movement with her coat tails and hair, and the posing as if she says "Tada!" I really dig the shadind too, especially on the thigh highs. She's holding some sort of Kingdom Hearts Keyblade, because everyone is a fucking Keyblade warrior, so long as they're under 18.  The pastel colors on her outfit really make her stand out, between her other two partners, if it wasn't for Sheryl's hotness and my love of Basara's songs, she might be my favorite from the line. Too bad, she still gets an 8/10.
Sheryl needs a baby sitter so she can bang Alto.

I thought we were channeling Poison!
I really do like all these figures, despite not being a huge Macross fan. They're easily found on ebay for $20 with shipping, So why not buy all 3 ? Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy plastic crack.

Dispensor- The most Euphoric Transformer in existence

Remember back in the first Transformers when Sam dropped the all spark and it hit a Mountain Dew machine and turned into a Transformers ? I do, fuck you guys. Since then I've always wanted a toy based on this beautiful bastard, for hilarity's sake. Finally with the latest movie coming out he received one! As a Japanese exclusive, with off brand labels on a truck, not a vending machine! Takara!!! Well I'll take what I can get. So I ordered him ASAP, and a week ago he arrived (I know, I'm lazy).

They spelled his name right! Go Japan!
I'm fairly certain this mold will be repositioned as the garbage Truck from Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction, if it wasn't already. Which is fine, because this is a really cool mold!

Almost a vending Machine right ?

He's a cute little truck with a vending machine pattern on the back. How kawaii! The design is definitely going to evoke visions of Mountain Dew, without crossing the line into product placement. Sadly there is nowhere to store his weapon. Oh well, let's Transform him!

I was surprised when I Transformed him, he's a pretty cool looking guy! A bit dumpy, but I'm fairly certain that's how he looked in film. The paint job is solid, but this guy did cost twice as much as a deluxe release over here in Murrica, so he ought to be. The issue with him though is his gimmick, you push out his huge sticking out bumper, and it becomes a law that grasps, like so:

Which is cool and everything, but he looks like crap from behind:
Yeah, there's nothing you can do about that. Too bad, so sad. Overall though, I really dig this guys design. The sculpt is great, especially his creepy evil face, the paint is solid, and he even houses a gimmick, what more could one want ? 8/10, get your Euphoria on! So when is my Cheetos repaint ? Even better where is my Oreos version ? (It's cannon!) Now here's my cat being a dick.
My asshole child does this every night.

Transf4mers Age of Extinction The greatest film ever created by man.

There are people in this world who believe Michael Bay isn't the greatest film maker ever. Hard to believe right ? Even crazier is that there are people who will not see age of extinction, let alone only see it once! Personally I plan on seeing it at least 5 times, possibly more. I've only seen it twice so far, and I have barely scraped the depth of this masterpiece.
We all know the story by now, Some good robots beat the shit out of bad robots and vice versa. So what's different this time around ? It's bigger and better in every possible way (Though I miss The Beef). The entire human cast has been wiped away as well, say goodbye to Shia Labeouf, and hello to Marky Mark Wahlberg. For some this may be seen as an improvement, though personally I miss Shia Labeouf. His neurotic, screaming constantly, and full of energy. Marky Mark comes off as more of a generic action hero, with him actually shooting an alien gun at the big bad in the final climax battle. To be fair though, Shia did take out Starscream, but that isn't a big accomplishment in the grand scheme of things.

The film also take place 4 years after the battle of Chicago, aka the climax of Dark of the moon, and all Transformers are being hunted down, Autobot or Decepticon, it doesn't matter to Kelsey Grammer. They're all bad guys in his book. That doesn't stop him from teaming up with Lockdown, the big bad of the film. Lockdown is a bounty hunter sent by the mysterious creators (Quintesson? Unicron ? Primus?)  to capture Optimus Prime. In exchange he gets a seed to turn organic material into what the Transformers are made of, Transformium. So why does he want the seed ? To give to a company that has begun making their own Transformers, and get rich. America!

Our hero Marky Mark is a poor inventor with a hot daughter who struggles to make ends meet. While checking out an old theater for things to sell, he finds a beat up old truck that he believes he can sell for parts. He takes it home, and discovers it's an Autobot, Optimus Prime! What a strange coincidence.  Since the movie wouldn't go anywhere without trouble, the government's secret agency  finds out the Markster is hiding Optimus, and descend upon is property. Some shit happens, and their house explodes in classic Bay stay, and the gang is on the run. They lose Marky Mark's best friend, but gain his daughter's generic boyfriend. Naturally he and Marky Mark clash, as do our current group of Autobots.

The only remaining Autobots from the previous film are Brains, Bumblebee, and Optimus Prime. The newcomers are
Drift- a samurai that turns into a Helicopter and Bugatti.
Hound- an old friend of Optimus and weapons expert, essentially the robot embodiment of his voice John Goodman.
Crosshairs-A Corvette that seems to hate everyone, complete with a trench coat, though sadly no fedora.
The years on the run have been tough on the autobots. They bicker like Children, and can't seem to stand one another. Drift and Bumblebee hate each other, Crosshairs hates everyone, and Optimus hates the humans. Getting this crew to work together will not be an easy task, especially teaming them up with humans, who have been hunting them and killing their comrades.

The plot of this movie is generic and stupid as hell. It is a summer blockbuster, so it should be judged on fun factor and enjoyment, and for me it definitely succeeds in both regards.  It has robot battles out the ass, takes place over two continents, and features some of the best looking cars I've ever seen. Top it off with Optimus and his gang riding the Dinbots, Giant Robot dinosaurs into battle in China, and you have one hell of a movie. It is a bit long at 2 hours and 45 minutes, but I was never bored with it. My main issue was the Dinobots were mute, and showed up about 20 minutes from the end. Another annoyance was the ending, where Optimus Prime flies off into space like he's fucking Superman or whatever.  Still it doesn't sway my love of the bay- 999999/10. Go see it now! I wouldn't recommend the 3D version, the visual effects started to give my friend and I headaches around two hours in.  Now it's time to see it Five or so more times.

huehuehue
On a related note, don't ever play Transformers rise of the Dark Spark. it's a broken mess of a game, and a headache for anyone who attempts it. The second level is the hardest, with tiny drones being as strong as Megatron that like to rape you hard and fast, and cannot be targeted with the awful Camera. The controls are a mess, especially on any level that contains jumping. The plot is nonsense, and random glitches will just happen- ranging from bullets to just go through your enemy to cutscenes not triggering due to broken code. I suffered through this game, and would advise anyone else to stay away. The only decent part was splaying as Grimlock, and even that was dull and glitchy. 2/10, but only for Grimlock. Otherwise this turd would be a zero.

Weaboo food review, with all the Japanese snacks you can find at Five Below.

As with most weaboos, I love anything to do with Japan, and that includes Japanese snacks! I use to buy them all the time at World Market, but then the local one closed. Then I found out there was another World Market 30 minutes away. I headed out there, and they also had the best Toys R Us I've ever been at, because it's in a rich area, and rich folk don't buy toys. By that Toys R us however, there was a Five below. It's like a dollar store, but everything there is $5 or below. I picked up a few cheap Transformers (Dark of The Moon deluxe) and delicious weaboo snacks. Now let's check out my haul!
That is quite the meal, one that could almost give you diabetes. I'm currently dying from it, so I hope you all appreciate my sacrifice. Time for the My little Pony Energy Drink!
You know those generic energy drinks they sell at random stores that think they're cool, such as Hot Topic, FYE, and Spencers ? They ones that are all the same shit, but with different labels slapped on them ? That's pretty much what these are, but with with cherry taste, instead of a sour one. It's like a cherry 7 up, but with more sugar. I felt like a faggot drinking this, and it gave me a headache. Clearly this was a test to see if I was a Brony, and I failed. But I bet you wouldn't! 4/10, for Bronies only.
Grape Ramune! I first became infatuated with ramune after seeing it is Raxephon. Then I saw it at my local FYE (RIP) and have been sporadically drinking them ever since. World Market has the widest variety of flavors, but I hate going there, and always leave with $50 in diabetes inducing snacks. Anyways this drink barely tastes like grape, it's closer to selzter water with a hint of grape cough syrup, so in short it's awful. Most ramunes are awful, but the Japanese writing tricks me every time,  That and the cool marble pop gimmick that opens it.  2/10, but I have no doubt I'll but it again.

As an ex-energy drink whore, I feel compelled to try any new energy drink. Even ones that are spin offs of shitty drinks I hate. They were even on sale at Target for 2/$3These share something in common with Ramune though- they both taste like awful seltzer water with a hint of medicine. Strawberry lime tastes awful, like something you'd give a misbehaving child. It's seltzer water with a hint of lime and strawberry syrup mixed together, so unless you like to vomit, don't buy this. 1/10, I struggled to finish it and I can drink anything.  The orange mango is a bit better, but still terrible. It tastes like when you put only a drop of tang into water, and it tastes like sour  and bitter. 2/10. I'm not sure who came up with these, but I hate them.

Next up is Yam Yams! These are sold and Target everywhere, in addition to weaboo stores. Yam Yams are biscuit sticks that can be dunked into a frosting dish, creating a psuedo pocky. The two I picked up are dual flavors, Chocolate/ Strawberry and Hazelnut/Vanilla. The Chocolate/Strawberry one is the Dunkaroos rip off you would expect, with vaguely vanilla biscuit sticks, and sugary tasting frosting. 6/10The Hazelnut/Vanilla one's biscuits tasted like munching on a wooden Popsicle stick. Delicious. 3/10.
I initially bought these because they looked cool, but they tasted pretty sweet, so I kept picking them up. Chocorooms are mushroom shaped treats with the top being a chocolate crown, and the stem being a biscuit. They taste the same as any other Japanese snack, sugary, and with a vanilla-esque biscuit. Still, it's the comical shape that sells them- 7/10! I bought two boxes and they were delicious!

These two snacks may seem different, at least at first glance. But no, Japanese snacks that make it to America are all pretty much the same sugary concoctions. Hello Pandas are pillow shaped biscuits that are filled with filling, in this case a delicious sugary strawberry. Well, artificial strawberry. Printed onto the from of the treat is a Panda playing some sort of sport. It's too cute not to love- 8/10! Koala's March is the same idea and Hello Panda, but with A Koala on the cookie! The Kolala is sittign on all of them, that Lazy strayan. He's holding something, since that comforts the slow witted Strayan. They don't taste as good as the Pandas either, the chocolate is bitter, and the biscuit isn't as sugary delicious. 4/10, never again Koala!

Does Hello Kitty even count as Japanese anymore ? I somehow doubt it. Especially since Jelly Belly is American (probably). Still I love me a good bean, so I picked these up. The theme of the bag is all red and pink flavors that no one will ever discern, since everyone just throws fist fulls  of them and eats them like a starving hog. The flavors are listed on the back though, in case anyone cares. They are sugary, delicious, and has a kitty on the bag, what more do you want ? 7/10, Red is a pretty color.
What sort of weaboo snack blog would this be without Pocky, a staple of the weaboo diet? A shitty one, that's what! For the two people who don't know what Pocky is, it's biscuits covered in a delicious frosting. They are sold at Wal-Marts, Giant Eagle, and probably other places I can't remember.  This particular flavor is Strawberry Cream, a variant on the classic Strawberry, a favorite of mine. It tastes like delicious artificial Strawberry, and you can barely taste the awful biscuit underneath. That is all I could ask from any snack. 10/10, would buy stock in. Now it's time to slip into a diabeetus coma, or play Gundam Dynasty Warriors. Tough call.

S.H. Figuarts Son Goku, Regular version after all these years!

I remember seeing Regular Goku shown off years ago, and no release date was set for a long ass time. He was first shown off with Piccolo, and finally in the year 2014 of our dark and unforgiving lord, he was released! But never forget we got Regular Vegeta, Cell, Freiza, Trunks, and even Krillin before him. What was Ban Dai smoking ?

Standard box, and the standard lack of stand. Awesome. He includes the usual extra hands, faces, and an awkward power blast part. Still an odd effect part is better than none, at least to me.

This figure is beautiful, I' ve long dreamed of having Regular Goku in all his glory, and finally I have him! Fuck yes! He's truly gorgeous, the face is Goku, the sculpt is later Goku (Post Freiza saga when he was riding the bicycle)the hair, and even the Gi are amazing. 10/10! They shave of golden orange is perfect to! I adore the facial expressions, this figure is perfect! Now let's see some faces!

Surprisingly, Goku can stand on his own. As long as you don't bend his knees too much that is. One od thing is you can remove the sleeves of his shirt so Goku can better show off his sick guns. He can do such fun poses as Intsant transmission,  Welcome to the gun show, and of course his Kamehameha power up.
There are finger holes on this awkward blast, but they're too much of an asspain for me to line up. He looks just as good holding it. So what will I give him ? 10/10! Why aen't you buying one ?Have you seen the aftermarket on the DBZ Figuarts  line ? Get to it!
